Oro del Desierto awarded as the best extra virgin olive oil in the World – medium intensity by L’extravergine 2009 Oro del Desierto, the organic extra virgin olive oil produced by Rafael Alonso Aguilera S.L. in Tabernas (Almería), receives a new award as the best extra virgin olive oil in the World on the category of medium intensity. This price has been given by L’extravergine 2009 a guide to the best extra virgin olive oils in the World with certified quality. Oro del Desierto is also included on the top 15 best olive oils in the guide. This well known Italian guide Published by Cucina et Vini editorial presents its 8th edition since 2003. In this guide the organizers make a selection of the best olive oils around the World by a sensorial tasting by a specialized tasting panel directed by Mr Marco Oreggia. According to the panel tasting of the guide, Oro del Desierto has the following profile of tasting: In view this oil has a golden color with intense green glares. In nose is broad and powerful, with notes of tomato, green apple and banana, all this enriched with notes of black pepper, sage, mint and basilisk. The flavor is mild and round with vegetal notes of celery, fresh beans, lettuce and almonds. The relationship between Bitter and Spicy is balanced and elegant. The prize giving ceremony was celebrated past 19th of December in Rome. The export and production managers of the company travelled to Rome to receive this important award which joins the large list of prizes earned by Oro del Desierto
